Advantages and disadvantages of post-secondary schools
When you have finished your high school education, a post-secondary school can also be an alternative to studies. Warsaw, Krakow or Poznan in each of the larger cities can find the right school that allows us to gain new qualifications.
Is there a post-secondary school in Warsaw?
Such educational institutions are intended for people who have secondary education, not necessarily high school diploma. It is possible to study in such a school, if you have a secondary school graduation certificate. This type of school offers us a relatively short learning period. This lasts for two or four semesters. Each participant receives a student index and identity card entitling to certain discounts. The course itself can be taught on a day, evening or extramural basis. Each time you finish your post-secondary education, you will have to pass a professional exam. Only this will give us the right to practice the given profession, i.e. obtain the technician’s title.
Pros and cons
Above all, the advantage here is the possibility of free education. Time is a very important asset. If we want to gain new qualifications relatively quickly, post-secondary schools are an excellent choice. Post-secondary schools also have a wide range of educational opportunities. We can learn in many directions. These are usually adjusted to market needs. This is why we can expect to find employment after graduation without any problems. The curriculum itself provides for many hours of practical training, so you can see for yourself whether a profession is really for you. Post-secondary schools also offer the possibility of learning and working at the same time. Some students of post-secondary schools combine studies at a university with classes at another institution, usually in the extramural system. This type of school also allows us to quickly advance. If in a given job, a prerequisite for promotion is gaining certain skills, post-secondary school gives us great possibilities. As far as the disadvantages of post-secondary schools are concerned, in case of some majors it is pointed out that the number of hours reserved for students is insufficient. This number of hours does not always prepare you sufficiently for the profession. Critics also point out that post-secondary education is less demanding than a degree in a particular field of study and provides fewer opportunities for advancement or gaining employment. However, it is important to remember about the context and the need to involve work and time. Post-secondary education means studying for a year or two. College is five years of learning.
