There are a few rules of good style that an elegant, image-conscious man should follow. However, it is worth taking into account that – depending on your position, environment or social standing – the rules may vary somewhat. For example: no one will be surprised if the manager of a creative agency matches a colorful jacket with a designer watch. However, if you want timeless elegance and an impeccable appearance, there are a few rules to remember.
Choice of a men’s watch for a suit
Formal attire is best complemented with a simple, classic watch of good quality. It is very important: a cheap fake watch can be easily recognized even by a person who is not a specialist in the field of timepieces, so if you are going to wear a bad watch with a suit, it is better not to put it on at all.
Good quality watches, from established manufacturers, often impress with a minimalist, classic look that will stay in style for years to come. They will perfectly complement formal attire for important meetings or celebrations. For a suit, it is essential to choose elegant models, without sporty designs, intense colors or rubber or nylon elements. It is worth choosing models on a strap rather than a bracelet, but it is not an obligatory element.
A very important element of a good, masculine style is the color of the watch envelope matching the metal elements of the clothing: belt buckle, cufflinks or tie-pins. If these elements are silver, the watch case (and bracelet if the timepiece has one) should be of the same color. This will emphasize the coherence of styling and avoid the impression of randomness or sloppiness.
If we decide on a watch with a leather strap, its color should be similar to the color of other leather elements of our outfit – shoes, belt and possibly a briefcase. A big advantage of the strips is that they are interchangeable. Thanks to this, when buying e.g. black and brown strap, we can always match our watch to a particular style.
Examples of suit watch models

These timepieces, in addition to a striking appearance, also have reliable mechanisms. They are an investment in your own image, but also a source of pride and joy for many years, and over time can become a family heirloom.
